According to research from IRU, the European road transport sector is facing a 13% increase in driver shortage in 2020.

IRU carried out research amongst small and medium transport and logistics companies in a number of European countries, calculating the commercial freight driver shortage on the continent to rise from 23% in 2019 to 36% in 2020.

Addinsight was developed by the South Australian Transport Department in 2012 and provides real-time and predictive updates on traffic movements and congestion by using beacons installed on the road network to identify movement of devices, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Finnair, the airline specialized in connecting Europe and Asia, and Neste, the world’s largest producer of sustainable aviation fuel from renewable waste and residues, have signed a new agreement which will gradually and considerably increase Finnair’s use of sustainable aviation fuel in its operations. The new partnership will be a key contributing factor in Finnair’s long-term target of carbon neutrality. Sustainable aviation fuels are a key part of the long-term solution for reducing the CO2 footprint of aviation, as they reduce the CO2 emissions by up to 80% compared to fossil fuels.

Thursday 5th March – The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has issued brand new guidance for the global shipping industry to help combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The comprehensive 22-page document has been produced in collaboration with prominent international bodies including:

•    The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)
•    The International Maritime Health Association (IMHA)
