Opened exhibitions feature the potential of engineering industry and transport business
The exhibitions starting at LITEXPO today have gathered specialists of engineering industry and transport. They will be offered not only the news in business exhibits and topical discussions in seminars, but also recreation activities in “Carriers outing“ or impressions from cars sports museum.
BALTTECHNIKA exhibition, attended by over 140 companies from many European countries this year, is one of the key events acquainting with the potential of engineering industry in Lithuania. The companies most open to novelties and actively seeking links between business and science participate in the exhibition. More than a half of them will present new technologies, equipment and materials for metal processing and welding. A considerable share of the companies will acquaint visitors with the newest energy technologies, alternative energy solutions, novelties of electronics and electric equipment, and automatics.
For the first time, visitors of the exhibition will find the exposition “Spring of electricians” organised by the company “Dogas”. More than 40 companies from Lithuania and other EU member states will present electric wires and cables, heating, automatics, electrical installation and products, tools, measuring devices and lighting.
The highlight of the exhibition – energy and its efficient use – will be presented in the conference “Efficiency of energy use in Lithuania: which opportunities we do not employ?”, organised for the first time. Supporters of alternative and nuclear energy will seek for points of contact at the conference, visitors will have an opportunity to acquaint with the ideas of “green” energy, and discuss the possibilities for cooperation between science and business. The conference will grant a considerable attention to energy saving ideas, experiments and projects.
In order to draw attention to the fact that Lithuanian industry is also able to create original and competitive products, since it does not feel a lack of ideas, organizers of the BaltTechnika exhibition will hold a competition of inventions for the first time. 12 Lithuanian inventors will present 18 patented inventions in it. None of the above has been implemented into production so far. The jury will nominate the most innovative, perspective and practicable inventions on 23rd of May.
Representatives of today’s particularly valuable occupation – welders – will demonstrate their skills at the exhibition. The best ones will be selected from about 30 participants of the competition. They will be announced on 23rd of May.
Transport, logistics and telematics exhibition TRANSBALTICA, organised at the same time, is not inferior to BALTTECHNIKA in terms of urgency of the topics. The exhibition will present the future challenges: economical and innovative transport, intellectual transport systems and smart technologies.
Organised every two years, the TransBaltica exhibition brings together transport and logistics market participants interested in the transit potential of Lithuania from not only Lithuania but also neighbouring countries. This year’s exhibition will be attended by 64 companies from Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Germany and Belarus.
Participants will see tags, trailers, buses and car transporters at the exhibition stands. In addition to vehicles, various services will be presented: cargo handling, storage, terminals and warehouses, passenger and cargo transport. Participants will also exhibit equipment, supplies, spare parts, machinery and mechanisms for filling stations, automotive repair and service companies. Several companies will present intellectual transport systems.
The problems urgent to the transport sector will be discussed during conferences organised at the exhibition. After Russia had started to apply a stricter control on international carriage, our country’s carriers faced new challenges which will be discussed with lawyers at the conference “Transport is the engine of export“. Employment of intellectual transport systems and smart technologies will be discussed during the conference organised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
This year, the representatives of transport business will be able to match work and entertainment. “Carriers outing” will be organised for the first time, together with the exhibition. Participants will be offered concerts arranged on a tag, football and the best Lithuanian beer. Beer will be accompanied by a special menu of Lithuanian and European cuisines, whereas Saulius Gadalauskas, the President of Lithuanian Brewers Association, and beer sommelier Donatas Dobrovolskis will teach visitors how to combine beer with food.
The exhibitions will be held at the Lithuanian exhibition and congress centre LITEXPO on 22-24 May. In the Hall 2, visitors of the exhibition will be able to visit the museum of Lithuanian technical sports fame, established in Lithuania for the first time. First exhibits of the museum include 30 Soviet “Pobedas”, “Zaporozhetz”, “Moskviches” and “Volgas”. All these exhibits have once participated in sports races, since all the famous Lithuanian racers’ way to the greatest courses started from Soviet cars.
Entrance to the exhibitions is free. Opening times: 22-23 May from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 24 May from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
