JOIN THE ZERO EMISSIONS CONVERSATION AT THE SHIP.ENERGY SUMMIT

2021 03 24

Petrospot is counting down to the launch of its inaugural ship.energy summit on 30-31 March 2021.

The virtual conference is the first of an ongoing series of global summits organised and hosted by ship.energy, the zero emissions intelligence platform introduced by Petrospot in 2020. The ship.energy summit is entirely free of charge to attend and open to everyone with an interest in the shipping industry's journey towards a zero emissions future.

The decarbonisation of shipping is underway, but there are still many more questions than answers about getting to zero. Across its two days the ship.energy summit will set the scene with a review of national future energy policies as well as the corporate strategies of the key global energy players. Leading technology and energy companies will also present clear and pragmatic insights into the range of fuels and propulsion solutions that look set to play a central role in shipping's step-by-step approach to hitting zero. Realism in terms of availability, cost and GHG emissions reduction potential will be key throughout the conference.

Examining these themes within a sharply focused programme of presentations, interviews, and panel discussions are representatives from industry leading practitioners, analysts and commentators in the decarbonisation debate, including IKEA Transport & Logistics Services, Total, MAN Energy Solutions, and the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping.

Speaking about the conference, Lesley Bankes-Hughes, Director of Publishing at Petrospot, said: "We're excited to introduce this next instalment in our zero emissions offering with the launch of the ship.energy summit. ship.energy has enjoyed remarkable success since its launch in 2020 in building a community across the breadth of the decarbonisation challenge, bringing together expertise from every facet of the debate. The ship.energy summit provides a platform for our industry's zero emissions pioneers to converse and collaborate, for the accelerated transformation of the shipping sector."

ship.energy tracks the shipping industry's journey towards a zero emissions future as the go-to information hub for news, longer reads, interviews, and expert comment on new fuels, technologies and vessel efficiency. It gives shipping industry stakeholders the opportunity to learn more about cleaner marine fuels and propulsion technologies, and to take part in the growing debate over how shipping and the bunker sector can actively and fully participate in the marine energy transition to zero emissions.

The ship.energy summit will feature the latest in virtual conferencing technology for a seamless digital experience. Sponsors and exhibitors can display their products, services, and key resources within the event platform's exhibition hall, as well as track and liaise directly with their visitors. Meanwhile, all delegates benefit from an intuitive networking interface through which they can engage with all attendees through text, voice and video chat, with the freedom to manage their own agendas around the event.
